Clear Lake Area Ski Club Supports the Sunshine Kids Foundation

Since 1988 our generous members have supported the efforts of another non-profit group - the Sunshine Kids Foundation. The Sunshine Kids is a national, Houston-based non-profit organization that provides recreational activities for children stricken with cancer. Put simply, the Foundation's mission is "Helping Kids with Cancer Smile." Our Club supports this organization so that the kids might get to have fun on the ski slopes like we do! For many years, funds for the kids have been raised by through generous donations. All proceeds go to the Foundation.

For many years, our club has held an annual event to help raise funds for The Sunshine Kids Foundation. The type of event has varied from year to year. Sometimes it is a silent auction held in conjunction with a shrimp boil or it has been a dining event called "Taste of CLASC," where many member "chefs" prepare their own special dish for others to sample while enjoying music provided by a band. We have even hosted a screening of the annual adventure ski film from Warren Miller Entertainment. The following pictures were from the 2008 "Taste of CLASC" fundraiser.
